For sale is one LRB Speed brake master brace for the FC. Works with all models, 86-91 coupe & convertible, LHD only. If you’ve ever pushed down hard on the brake pedal while observing the master, you know that it does have some flex in it, contributed from the firewall deflecting slightly. This means wasted pedal force, as not all the foot pressure applied will make its way to the pads & rotors. With this brace, the flex is brought down to near non-existence levels. Firmer pedal feel will result, which is great if you’re really going hard on the car in a racing application.
Made from CNC Plasma cut 3/16″ (4.8mm) thick steel, which is then bent and MIG welded for ultimate strength. M10 bolt bumps up against master, and a large washer plate (also 3/16″ steel) attaches in the wheel well area, to keep any would-be flex of the strut tower sheet metal down as low as possible. Part is powdercoated matte black, with mounting hardware being 304 stainless steel. Uses existing threaded holes on the chassis, this is a bolt-on mod which should take 10 minutes to install (will require lifting of LH front to remove wheel and install reinforcement plate)
Please note: Some Master/Booster combos may require changing the M10 bolt that bumps up at the end of the master (929 brake swap, ABS S5 T2, etc). Product is designed around a 1991 “base” w/ single piston brakes, as well as an ’87 sport w/ 4 piston calipers.
